Well... Shit.

Believe it or not, I was on track to release a new song this weekend. Two weeks for a new track would have been a record for me! Unfortunately fate stepped in and my DAW went down, down, down on Tuesday night. I have no one but myself to blame (note to Ableton haters: it was my own ethical stupidity that caused the problem, nothing they did wrong), but it's still a pain in the ass. Assuming I didn't lose any data (fingers crossed) I guess I'll just sit on this one until I can sort out how to get things back up and running. Ugh.

So what the hell do I do now? Well, I've spent the last couple of days crash-coursing on a "demo" of Logic 8. So far so good, I think I've got the basics worked out. We'll see if I can get anything rolling there while I'm working on my Live problems. I also thought about actually plugging the 'ole decks in again- it's been ages since I played the DJ game, and I'm surely way out of practice. Or maybe I'll take my brother's advice and just pick a #!&$ name and start getting my songs out there "for real".  Maybe the Live shutdown was a divine message to get my ass in gear on all those things I've been neglecting?

Or maybe I just need to grow up and start actually paying for shit.
