The LoveTech gig was great- good turnout, good sound system, and a truly amazing performance space. Komega and Moldover were gracious hosts and just generally cool guys, and the crowd was receptive and open minded to each of the performers. My friends from Socialush showed up and shot some photos and video, which I'll be sure to link to once they've gone live on their site. Overall it was a really fun night, and I felt pretty good about my performance. I actually captured an audio recording of the set, which I'll post here shortly; from my brief once-over it's a little rougher than I remember, but full disclosure is the name of the game here, so I'm not going to keep it locked away.
On the home front, I have some pretty exciting news: I've approved the mastered refs for Days Away, and should have the final master in-hand later this week! Case artwork for the physical CD packaging has been ordered, and should be here in a similar time frame. That just leaves printing and burning the CDs themselves (which my brother Eric is graciously handling), and it'll be finished! I'll write more on my plans for the album when it's in-hand, but this definitely qualifies as the home stretch, and not a day too soon as far as my sanity is concerned.
I'm going to be taking it a little easy for the next few days, but I'm really looking forward to a creative clean slate. There's a whole lot of material sitting on my hard drive just waiting to be finished (can you believe that the last completed track I posted here was in May of last year?), and it's going to be great to "reset" and focus on writing (music) again. For right now, though, it's tea, ice cream, the couch and me. Sometimes you've got to take a break, even from the things you love.
