It appears that I've been negligent again, letting things slip by with nary a mention on "the blog." In penance, a summary:
First: I've been down in LA for the past week doing a series of shows with my S.Cal. friends Vibrasol in collaboration with the lyrical pole-dance troupe Goddess 13. For two weekends (one just passed, one upcoming- six shows total) we're the main act at the trusty Unknown Theater, performing a sort of hybrid mash-up of Nonagon and Vibrasol songs to set the stage for Goddess 13's lovely pole antics. From a personal performance standpoint these shows are necessarily less dynamic and improvisatory due to the nature of choreography and band synchronization, but it's still been a great experience, and one that I'd recommend to any Los Angeles readers looking for something to do this Fri-Sun. Also they gave me a costume, which doesn't quite vibe with my whole "introverted, moody electronic musician" thing, but is a fun change of pace nonetheless. At least I get to keep my (yellow women's) pants on.
Second: I've been booked for my first show in San Francisco! I'll be playing at the one-year anniversary of the San Francisco Electronic Music Association (SFEMA, though the event now appears to be called Knitworks), a monthly gathering of (you guessed it) live electronic musicians. There's a flyer and everything:

My set will probably be around thirty minutes long, starting sometime around 11pm. I'm really excited to have something going on in the Bay at last! A little nervous about having only one day to prepare (I'm driving back from LA the Monday before the show), but I'll hopefully be able to leverage most of the stuff from one of the previous LA shows. If you happen to be in the area on Feb 4th, please come out! It's always nice to see familiar faces.
So that's the news for now. Album preparation continues, and I should soon be able to post some of the amazing artwork my friend Joe Baar has been working up. Some other interesting developments in the works too, but you'll have to tune in next time for more on those. In the mean time: happy new president, USA!
